Calling all Book Lovers
Something pretty and some updates
Hello, dear readers,
In absolutely classic Emily fashion, it’s been a while. There’s been a lot going on behind the scenes, but the most important thing is that I’ve been writing, a lot. I’m deep into my book for 2027 (assuming nothing unexpected happens), and I’m starting to really understand what it wants to be and why I needed to write it, which is always an exciting and nerve-racking moment for me, when I start to see the possibility of something but also the gap between where it is now and where I want it to be before I give it to you.
But in the meantime, I’m popping up to let you know that the Book Lovers special edition will be out on August 18th, and there will be a limited number of signed copies available through my local independent bookstore, Joseph Beth! You can preorder yours now here.
Now I have to get back to work, but here’s what I’m loving this summer:
Suzanne Collins’s Sunrise on the Reaping: Took me a while to read because didn’t know if I wanted to be that sad, but I finally did, and it was great, and very, very sad. I admire her ability to tell a really compelling, commercial story that’s still so grounded and doesn’t pull any punches.
Silo: Been waiting forever for the new season and it’s finally started airing on Apple TV.
My Emotional Baggage collab with Print Fresh: I got to help design a collection with my absolute favorite pajamas brand, and I’ve been living in mine and wearing my own personal easter eggs all summer. They’re breezy and cozy, and I love them.
JonnyPops’s Birthday Surprise Cream Minis: It’s summer; they’re cold and delicious.
And that’s all I’ve got for you today, but so much more to come soon. 👀
xo,
Em
